Irritable Bowel Syndrome Program

Your personalized plan to reclaim control of your symptoms and your life.

Life With IBS

Living with IBS is painful, physically and emotionally. It interferes with and takes the joy out of your life. Going to school, work, or out with family and friends becomes a challenge.

Even though IBS is a chronic condition, you don’t need to suffer. Diet and lifestyle changes can reduce the pain and symptoms of your IBS.

What is the IBS
Program?

It’s virtual one-on-one nutrition coaching through the low-fodmap diet.
FODMAPs are short-chain fermentable carbohydrates that aren’t digested and absorbed well in the digestive tract of some people. This can lead to gas, abdominal pain, bloating, constipation, and diarrhea.
An essential step in managing your symptoms is recognizing which foods to avoid. When done alone, it can be a challenging and frustrating process.
That’s why we’ll work together to determine which FODMAPs you can tolerate and in what amount.
The goal is for you to enjoy the most varied and nutritious diet that you can tolerate.

The Low-Fodmap Diet

The Low-fodmap diet progresses in three phases

Phase 1

Low-fodmap diet

Replace high-fodmap carbohydrates with low-fodmap alternatives. This phase lasts for 2 – 6 weeks, and you should feel better within two weeks.

Phase 2

Reintroduction

Reintroduce one fodmap group at a time while monitoring your symptoms. This phase takes about 6 weeks to complete.

Phase 3

Personalization

Assess results from Phase 2 and
reintroduce well-tolerated
high-fodmap foods.

Step 1

See Your Doctor

Have you been diagnosed with IBS by your doctor? It’s essential to confirm that you have IBS before starting this program. This is to rule out other organic diseases, which may be the reason for your symptoms.

Step 2

Enrol

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll get access to your Client Portal. Here, you’ll fill out a few questionnaires about your eating and symptom patterns.

Step 3

Consultation & Follow-Up

We’ll have an initial 50-minute session and two 45-minute follow-up sessions.

What To Expect?

Initial Session:

In the first session, we’ll review your questionnaires. I’ll describe the science behind fodmaps and outline the steps of the low-fodmap diet.
In your Client Portal, you’ll have everything you need to track your symptoms and plan your meals.

Follow-Up Sessions:

In the first follow-up session
We’ll review your symptoms. If there’s a slight improvement, we’ll consider continuing the low-fodmap diet. If your symptoms have improved, we’ll move to the Reintroduction Phase. In your Client Portal, you’ll have a reintroduction schedule. I’ll explain how to use the schedule, so you know when and how to bring back each fodmap group.
In the second follow-up session
We’ll review your symptoms from the Reintroduction Phase. From here, we’ll adjust your diet so you’re eating the most varied and nutritious diet you can tolerate.
